 Britney Spears‘ life remains in the hands of her father Jamie, after a claim challenging his conservatorship was rejected. Attorney Jon Eardley, who claims Spears hired him to challenge Jamie’s control of her estate and daily life because it violates her civil rights, filed a claim in the Los Angeles Court of Appeals, but the judge rejected it without even seeking a response from Jamie and co-conservator Andrew Wallet. While Britney’s team has always denied she asked Eardley to represent her, the lawyer has now produced a transcript of a phone conversation they had before Jamie was made responsible for his daughter. In the call, Britney, who purportedly set up the call through a paparazzo friend and speaks in an English accent throughout the conversation, can be heard saying: ‘Basically I want my life back. I want to drive my car. I want to live in my house alone. I want to pick my own security, see who I want to see and make it happen.”

 Britney Spears was involved in a minor three-car collision traffic accident on a Los Angeles freeway, authorities said. California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball says the three-car collision occurred about 8:20 p.m. Saturday on the northbound 405 at the 101 freeway in San Fernando Valley. Kimball says it was a minor accident and nobody was hurt. “Britney Spears rear-ended a car in stop-and-go traffic after she failed to stop her Mercedes in time,” said Kimball. “That car, in turn, pushed forward into another car,” he said. The CHP took a report and no one was injured or cited. A previous misdemeanor hit-and-run charge from an August 2007 parking lot crash was dismissed after Spears paid an undisclosed amount to the car’s owner. In October, she pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor charge of driving without a valid driver’s license and later obtained a California license.

 Britney Spears was ordered by a court commissioner to pay ex-husband Kevin Federline $375,000 to cover his attorney fees in their child-custody dispute. Commissioner Scott Gordon ruled that Spears‘ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in her custody case with ex-husband Kevin Federline. Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federlines lead attorney, had asked for nearly $500,000. Gordon issued the order in response to arguments presented last week. Spears‘ attorney Stacy Phillips argued that Kaplan was overbilling and that Federline can pay his own legal bills, but Gordon wrote that Spears‘ actions led to a great majority of the litigation and delays in the case. Spears has had very limited contact with her two toddler sons, who are under the sole physical and legal custody of Federline. Spears‘ father, James, was named one of two co-conservators of her estate after she was hospitalized twice in January. The conservatorship has been extended until July 31.

 Britney Spears‘ former manager Larry Rudolph has dismissed rumors she is recording a new LP under his supervision, insisting their recent trip to a studio together was "just For Fun." Rudolph, who is widely credited with discovering Spears when she was just 15, was reportedly fired as her manager after he joined forces with her parents and staged an intervention to get Spears to enter rehab at the beginning of last year. Rudolph recently sparked rumors he has reconciled with Spears by declaring she is set to make a triumphant comeback to the music scene. They fueled speculation about their reunion when they were seen entering a Los Angeles recording studio together earlier this week. Rudolph has denied they are working on a new project together. He says, "We went into the studio, but it was just for fun, nothing more." A source confirms, "Britney just wanted to go in and tinker around. She sat at a piano and got some ideas. She played the piano and sang a bit. She enjoyed herself."
